Ebla
Ebla fue un reino de Síria centrado en la ciudad de Ebla, la cual ya existía al comienzo del tercer milenio momento en el que llegó a ser un verdadero centro urbano amorrita, que se desarrolló por el comercio con Mari, ciudad de la que fue tributaria hacia 2500 aC, pero dicho tributo fue desapareciendo hasta que hacia 2400 aC la situación se invirtió, y Mari pasó a pagar tributos a Ebla, cuyo rey designaba el jefe de estado de Mari.

Antigua ciudad en el noroeste de Siria.

Está ubicada al sur de Alepo, y durante el apogeo de su poderío ( 2600–2240 BC) dominaba lo que hoy es el norte de Siria, Líbano y partes del norte de Mesopotamia, y comerciaba con estados ubicados en regiones tan distantes como Egipto, la meseta iraní y Sumer. Los registros de la ciudad, que datan del tercer milenio BC, fueron descubiertos virtualmente intactos durante las excavaciones llevadas a cabo en 1975; estos ofrecen una rica fuente de información acerca de la forma de vida de la antigua región.
